The Revolution full-face helmet was one of the first Lazer models to feature this type of reinforced structure. Later trail helmets, including the Jackal KinetiCore and Impala MIPS, continued the concept with dedicated mounting areas designed for compatible accessories.
To evaluate how these systems perform, Lazer includes accessory mounts as part of its helmet testing process.
Helmets designed for use with mounted accessories are tested both with and without compatible devices attached, helping verify that the helmet continues to meet applicable certification requirements in both configurations.
Where the Technology Began
The origins of Lazer's anti-intrusion technology can be traced back to 2012 and the Oasis mountain bike helmet.
The Oasis included an accessory mount, which led Lazer to consider how an attached device could affect helmet performance during a crash. The design was subsequently refined to better account for those potential forces.
Lazer continued developing the concept with the Revolution full-face helmet several years later.
Designed from the ground up with an integrated accessory mount, the Revolution included a reinforced mounting area where a point-of-view camera or similar device could be attached.
Designed to Manage Accessory Forces
The Revolution's anti-intrusion structure was designed to help spread forces created by an attached device across a reinforced section of the helmet rather than concentrating them in one small area.
Its accessory mount also incorporated a breakaway function. If a mounted camera became caught on an obstacle such as a low branch, the system was designed to release rather than remain rigidly attached to the helmet.
While the Revolution is no longer a current model, later Lazer trail helmets followed a similar development philosophy.
Models such as the Jackal KinetiCore use designated accessory-mounting areas and compatible mounting systems so riders can position devices where the helmet has been designed to accommodate them.
Correct placement is important. Mounting accessories only in the designated reinforced areas helps ensure the helmet and accessory system perform as intended.
