The Lazer Coyote KinetiCore offers a strong blend of price, safety, comfort, and ventilation.

For being a relatively inexpensive helmet, the Lazer lid has all the features I tend to look for in a daily-use option. The magnetic buckle seems superfluous until you realize how much nicer it is to use, the ratchet works well, the visor is effective and adjustable, and the safety rating is top notch.

The Lazer Coyote strikes a solid price point, while still offering excellent safety features and finishing details. I’ve worn mine on every ride since I’ve gotten it, and while the liner has gotten a bit nasty with all that use, my feelings about the helmet haven’t strayed from totally positive since day one.

The Lazer Coyote Kineticore is a really nice, not-super-expensive helmet that manages to offer a very similar fit, features, and quality as its Jackal sibling at half the price. If it fits your head — and it works great on mine — it’s an excellent option for an all-rounder Trail bike helmet that feels like a more premium offering than its price would suggest.

If you are looking for a helmet on a budget with modern safety features and attractive design then the Lazer Tempo KinetiCore is tough to beat.

None of these helmets are losers, but there can only be one winner in this shootout. That winner is the Lazer Jackal. It puts the head-protection puzzle together like no other and is one of those pieces of gear we are always happy to be wearing.

The Lazer Vento KinetiCore is an impressive and innovative helmet that mixes decent airflow with a new fitting system and good looks, and avoids giving you the mushroom-head look of some aero helmets.

The Lazer Jackal KinetiCore is a nicely designed Trail-bike helmet with above-average ventilation, good comfort, a fairly middle-of-the-road fit that should work for a lot of people, and a 5-star safety rating from Virginia Tech’s helmet testing lab. And in terms of the comfort-oriented claims that we’re capable of testing, the KinetiCore technology at the heart of the helmet delivers. It’s a really nice option, particularly for folks who’d prefer a relatively lightweight, low-profile helmet.

The Vento KinetiCore has proven to be a very comfortable helmet — so much so that Dave declared it “perhaps the most comfortable helmet” he’s ever worn.

Boasting a reasonable price tag and a whole host of advanced road cycling features, the Lazer Strada KinetiCore helmet sticks to the brand’s promise of passing the savings achieved from use of its proprietary safety system to the end user. With a full five-star independent safety rating, a great fit, sleek design and lightweight construction, this is a fantastic road helmet for the money.

I also really love the way you tighten the helmet. Where usually you have a dial to adjust the fit, on this helmet you have the Lazer ScrollSys, a miniature conveyor belt to tighten or loosen it.

Lazer manages to cram a host of other desirable features into its modestly priced helmet. There’s an integrated adjustable visor and a no-slip grip to keep goggles in place.

Lazer has introduced an interesting new impact protection system with KinetiCore, and in the Jackal has a very competent and high-performing helmet, with an excellent fit and competitive weight.

We were impressed with the lightweight and airy design of the helmet which makes it perfect for long days in the saddle.

There’s also a really unique fit system called EZ Fit: simply open it, put the helmet on and it automatically adjusts to the proper fit for your tiny rider. (Genius!)
